Valor Sabre Academy

Project Background

Valor Sabre Academy required an audio installation for its large, open-concept training facility. The system needed to support music and microphone announcements during classes and events, while remaining straightforward for staff to operate. Avvantage developed an economical solution around coverage, durability and essential daily functions.

The facility’s high ceilings and expansive floor area shaped the brief. Sound had to reach the training space clearly without relying on excessive volume in only one part of the room. The project also needed to stay within a strict budget, making equipment selection and placement especially important.

The Challenge

A large open room with a high ceiling can produce uneven coverage and distracting reflections. Speakers positioned without regard to the floor layout may create loud areas near the equipment and quieter areas farther away. In a training environment, both music and spoken instructions need to be useful across the occupied space.

Operation was another constraint. Instructors needed a convenient way to stream background music and switch to microphone announcements. The solution had to provide those core functions without adding unnecessary complexity or equipment beyond the academy’s requirements.

The Solution

The documented design used six TOA PE-304 pendant loudspeakers, suspended to direct sound toward the floor. This approach addressed the high-ceiling environment by bringing the coverage strategy closer to the area where people train. The installation focused on more even distribution rather than simply increasing output from a single position.

Amplification and mixing brought music and microphone use together, while Bluetooth input gave staff a familiar route for everyday playback from mobile devices. The public project record identifies an Inandon amplifier alongside the TOA pendant arrangement. System gain and microphone input were considered as part of the practical operating setup.

The result was a focused installation designed around how the academy uses its main floor: background music during activity, clear announcements when needed and controls that instructors could use routinely.
