Mississauga Chinese Christian Church

Project Background

Mississauga Chinese Christian Church needed an upgrade to its primary worship sanctuary. The existing sound installation had limited output and uneven coverage, while the television displays were too small for people seated farther back to read scripture, lyrics and other presentation content comfortably.

Avvantage’s project addressed audio and visuals together. Spoken messages needed to remain intelligible across the main floor, music required useful dynamic range and the display system needed to serve the full congregation rather than only the seats closest to it.

The Challenge

The published project record describes inconsistent frequency balance between seating areas and noticeable gaps in coverage. Low overall volume and limited headroom also affected the experience. In a worship setting, these issues influence both the clarity of sermons and the presentation of live music.

The visual challenge was related to scale and distance. Small flat-panel displays did not offer enough area for back-row readers. Replacing them required a coordinated projection arrangement, including a way to route the same content to both screens over the necessary cable distances.

The Solution

The audio configuration used Bose ArenaMatch Utility AMU208 loudspeakers, dual 18-inch subwoofers and digital signal processing. DSP functions included loudspeaker voicing, crossover filters, equalization and limiter protection. The project record also identifies a Bose PM8500 amplifier as part of the amplification arrangement.

Audio processing and system adjustment addressed the relationship between the main loudspeakers and low-frequency support. The focus was clearer speech and more consistent full-range reproduction across the main seating floor, with capacity suited to both spoken services and musical content.

For visuals, Avvantage installed two 120-inch motorized projection screens with twin 4,000-lumen laser projectors. HDMI-over-HDBaseT signal extension over shielded Cat6a cabling supported the cable runs from the AV booth to the projector positions. Synchronized routing allowed both displays to present the same material.

The completed installation supports clearer announcements and sermons, stronger musical reproduction and larger shared visuals. The dual-screen arrangement improves access to projected material across the sanctuary, while the coordinated audio system addresses the main floor’s previous coverage limitations.
